Mortal Tides clean up at music awards ahead of EP release Monday

It was a special moment last Friday night when the schoolboy band MORTAL TIDES realised they’d won an NMG Music Award.

They tweeted, “Holy shit we won…! Best 18 and under group in the East – @nmgawards. Thanks so much!”

Along with this award, they also bagged two development prizes — a slot at Cambridge’s historic Strawberry Fair and a chance to appear on DJ Sue Marchant’s BBC radio show.

The award was thoroughly deserved — these boys may look young but they play their particular brand of indie-folk like old souls.
